FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BETHESDA, Md. (Jan. 1, 2020)
Today, Friends of Patients at the NIH announces that Jay Shah has been elected to its board of directors.
Jay Shah is the Chief Operating Officer of Octo, where he oversees all delivery and growth activities across the firm to ensure the company executes its strategic vision. He has over 20 years of management and leadership experience in all facets of service delivery, business development, proposal creation, capture planning and operational management. Shah has been at Octo since 2008 and prior to serving as COO, he served as the P&L lead for all Federal Health work that Octo performs. With over 15 years of experience supporting Health and Human Services, specifically at the National Institutes of Health, Shah was able to grow Octo’s Federal Health business to over 300 FTEs. Prior to joining Octo, Shah held leadership positions at Gartner and Cap Gemini.
Shah has been married for nearly 17 years and has three children aged 13, 10 and 8. He and his family currently reside in Ashburn, VA. Music is a big part of Shah’s life. He went to 24 live concerts last year and he also has a band with his children called the Magic Yellow Turtles.
Shah has been a part of the NIH community since 2004. He has established relationships across multiple ICs and he has a deep understanding of Friends at NIH’s mission. Shah is excited to help bring in volunteers, funding and leadership from more companies in the government contracting field. Shah also attributes some of his interest in the NIH to his experience as a Crohn’s Disease patient and his daughter’s experience with epilepsy.
