Ana Longenderfer Dougherty and her family learned first hand what patients and their families go through to participate in an NIH clinical trial.
In Ana’s memory and per her wishes, Ana’s Impact supports patients and their families during their treatment at NIH though these programs:
- Fridays with Ana and Friends, where volunteers deliver a variety of sweet and salty snacks, toiletries, puzzles, and art supplies to in-patients at their bedside.
- Special treats during the holiday season included Pendleton plush blankets, fuzzy slipper socks, body lotion, and a choice of all-in-one art project kits.
- Holiday lunch with made-to-order pizzas, fresh baked goods, and a choice of drinks delivered to their hospital rooms.
- Gift cards for patients who are able to eat at outside restaurants.
- Virtual reality games and crafting supplies to be used in rehabilitation therapy.
