In addition, the Friends at NIH is helping individual patients in creative ways that make their lives a little better during their treatment at the NIH.
- An apartment at The Monterey in North Bethesda, generously provided by Bozzuto Homes and furnished by SuiteAmerica, is provided through the Friends for a patient and their family during their long-term stay in the Washington area.
- Sunday evening dinners for families at the Safra Lodge: On Sundays, when many patients and their families arrive at the NIH for the week ahead, the Friends underwrites a dinner designed to let patients relax and settle in, rather than having to run out for to find dinner nearby.
- Monthly patient parties at the NIH: The Friends provides for NIH patients to relax and have time away from their hospital room. You can volunteer to join us and help with the parties by contacting Heidi Grolig.
