Mr. Jerry Sachs
Jerry is currently the Vice President of the Friends at NIH board and he served as president of the board in 2017 and 2018. Jerry is an active and dedicated board member and advisor to the Patient Advisory Group at the Clinical Center.
As a patient at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center for 40+ years, Jerry is passionate about giving back to the NIH.
“There isn’t enough I can do to show my appreciation for this treatment they have given me,” Jerry says.
Dr. John Tisdale
John Tisdale, M.D. is a physician scientist who has spent his career working with Sickle Cell Disease.
We are honored to partner with Dr. Tisdale and the NHLBI medical team in support of patients receiving treatment and finding cures.

Dr. Tisdale and his sickle-cell work were featured in the Discovery Channel’s First in Human documentary (aired in August 2017) that was filmed at the NIH Clinical Center.
In addition, Dr. Tisdale’s work was featured on an episode of 60 Minutes (aired on March 10, 2019)
